Volunteer Reading Tutor

2025 tutor applications are closed.

Mark your calendar for next year! Volunteer applications begin April 2026.

What is Stay-On-Track?

Stay-On-Track is a summer reading program for children, grades 1-3, to help them maintain and improve their reading skills during the summer. Volunteer tutors meet with students one-on-one at the Library to practice reading and phonics with games, activities, and stories.

Tutor Responsibilities

Stay-On-Track volunteers meet with a student twice each week for 30 minutes throughout June and July. Volunteers arrange with students' families to find the times that work best. Schedules are flexible! We understand that volunteers may have vacations, commitments, etc. throughout the summer. All tutoring materials are provided by the Literacy Department.

Visit the Library or return to this webpage beginning April 2026 for a volunteer application and more information. To see other volunteer opportunities, please see the Library's volunteering page.
